U-M 42, Iowa 17: Notes, Quotes & Observations
On a perfect day for football in Ann Arbor, Michigan offensive coordinator Al Borges called a nearly flawless game - always easier, of course, when the execution matches the right calls at the right time. The seniors' last home game in Michigan Stadium, a 42-17 pasting of Iowa, ended in fitting fashion, providing enough Denard Robinson (in a running role), plenty more of Devin Gardner in a glimpse of the past, present and future.
Robinson initially lined up at tailback to a rousing ovation. There was one vintage run from the quarterback position, a 40-yarder down the right sideline in which he showed his burst to the Michigan Stadium fans one last time, but it didn't take long for the Hawkeyes to realize No. 16 wasn't going to throw.
