Montgomery: Young defensive linemen progressing
Michigan has built its last two recruiting classes from the inside out, concentrating on strengthening both lines for the rigors of Big Ten play. Some in last year's group redshirted and some played - defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery assessed all of them after signing day, providing the latest on injured redshirt freshman Chris Wormley.
Head coach Brady Hoke hinted that Wormley (6-4, 279) would be ready to return from an ACL injury this spring when he didn't include him on the list of those who would be out following his signing day presser.
"I can't tell you that, but I know he looks good in what he's doing now," Montgomery said. "He's running really well, and I'd be shocked if he wasn't [ready]. But I'm not the doc so I can't tell you.
