Greg Mattison is the perfect man to coach the D-Line

TheWolverine.com When Michigan hired Roy Manning earlier this week, it filled its assistant coaching vacancy but didn't hire a new defensive line coach. Instead, Manning will coach outside linebackers and coordinator Greg Mattison will handle the line, a position he's quite familiar with.
Dating back to the origins of his coaching career in 1971, Mattison coached the defensive line at Cornell (1977), Northwestern (1978-80), Western Michigan (1982-84), Navy (1987-88), Texas A&M (1989-91), Michigan (1992-96), Notre Dame (2002-04) and Florida (2005-07). He has 23 years of experience with the front four, while these past two years he worked with U-M's SAM linebackers and rush ends.
