U-M 42, Minnesota 13: Notes, quotes and observations
Michigan's 42-13 win over Minnesota wasn't as easy as it might look in the Sunday paper (in French Lick, Ind. or wherever print still exists). There was improvement in a few areas, however, some of it obvious, some of it not so much.
There were also inconsistencies and red flags that show how far this team has to go to be a championship contender, even in an average Big Ten. Granted, the Legends Division is miles ahead of the Leaders (though the two best teams, Ohio State and Wisconsin, reside in the latter), but in a year in which we thought Michigan might be able to compete with the big boys, even with a young team - well, they're not there yet.
