EAST LANSING - Believe it or not, Tom Izzo is a big stat guy. He often looks up numbers to prove or disprove a point that is on his mind at a given juncture.
This week, he is talking about free throw numbers, as in the number of trips to the foul line that Indiana customarily makes in a game.
"Cody Zeller is shooting eight free throws a game," Izzo said. "Christian Watford is getting six a game. That's a lot of free throws out of two guys, and Victor Oladipo is getting four a game. You look at those guys that's a lot."
Izzo rambled those numbers off the top of his head. Those figures are in his head as his team prepares for Sunday's game against the nation's No. 5-ranked team in arguably the best gameday atmosphere in America.
