OSU 42, Michigan 41: Notes, quotes and observations

It was the right decision, but maybe not the right play. Michigan, a 15-point underdog trailing 42-41, was a two-point conversion away from a victory over undefeated Ohio State that would have helped ease the sting of what's been a long and disappointing year. Quarterback Devin Gardner was hobbling with a leg injury, the defense had only forced one third down all half and kicker Brendan Gibbons was out with his own injury.

It wasn't a no-brainer to go for two, but it was the right call, even though Gardner's pass for senior Drew Dileo was picked off. Head coach Brady Hoke knew it even before he called the seniors over after an Ohio State timeout to ask their opinions.
