VIDEO: Byrd helps Spiece get back on track at AMC

BLOOMINGTON - During his four years at Michigan State 2010 Spartan commitment Russell Byrd will have plenty of opportunities to face Indiana on the road at Assembly Hall.

If this past weekend is any indication, Byrd will have some big scoring nights as a Spartan on the floor of his home-state Hoosiers. The 2010 Michigan State commitment had one of his best games at the Adidas May Classic on the main court at Assembly Hall against a solid team from Canada in U-Play Canada Elite.

Byrd scored 17 points in the game and was efficient in doing so. The future Spartan netted 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting. The Ft. Wayne Blackhawk Christian standout was 3-of-5 from beyond the 3-point stripe.

Byrd scored the first two baskets of the game for Spiece Indy Heat and helped the tone for a tournament in which the Indy Heat bounced back from a disappointing showing at their own Bill Hensley Memorial Run-N-Slam All-Star Classic two weekends prior.
